Here is an article Fernanda wrote for Black Hisory Month:

As you may know February is black history month. It is the month in which we aknowlege the people who made a change during the civil rights movement. Some of these people are Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Nelson Mandela, Ruby Bridges. There are many more who made a change in the world but if i told you all of them you would probably be bored, so I am only going to tell you about one, Ruby Bridges.

Ruby Bridges was born September 8, 1954 in Tylertown, Mississippi. Around that time there was segregation and the blacks were not allowed to be where the white were. Bathrooms were put on opposite sides to avoid any contact with each race. This made it really hard for Ruby to attend school because she was the only black girl who attended an all white school, the William Frantz School. Her father disliked this a lot because he knew that she would be tormented and the kids would mistreat her. Her mother, on the other hand wanted Ruby to attend the William Frantz because she knew if Ruby was going to school with white kids she would get a better education.

Going to school everyday was a challenge for Ruby because she was constantly made fun of and the white kids would always pick on her. After excruciating years of school Ruby finally graduated and became a travel agent. She was one of the first black Americans to go to an all white school. This helped a lot of black students attend an all white school and improved the friendships between blacks and whites.

Ruby never realized the impact that she had on both blacks and whites until her brother was killed. She began to help out black kids that were having problems. She developed the Ruby Bridges Foundation and helped black students to get a better education.
This is a little brief summary on who she was and what she did to help out during the civil rights movement.

This video is an identity project that the students were supposed to do to introduce themselves in French. Here is a song Jonathan created. He did and recorded the instrumental and added his voice. The title of his song is "De la Bombe Atomique" :) Enjoy!

This one is a beautiful artwork by Adams and Ayoub to symbolize their personal representation of the United States.
